FAQs

Do we need to bring the van to you or can you come to us?

Our workshop is specially set up for the type of work we carry out, and will accommodate most campervans. This facilitates the maintenance and repair of these larger vehicles.

If bringing your vehicle in isn’t convenient, our mobile service team can come to you—saving you time without sacrificing quality.

Whether you visit us or we come to you, you can count on expert, reliable service every time.

Why pay for a professional, rather than DIY?

There are a number of hazards in the average campervan or motorhome. With DC electrics, the huge currents involved mean there is a risk of fire if the design or installation is incorrect.

With AC electrics, the main risk is electrocution. In many ways, the system is more complex than a domestic system as the AC power can be from the inverter or from the shore power hook up.

Gas – propane (LPG) is a more dangerous gas than natural gas, which is what you have in your home. Propane is more flammable, requires more air for safe combustion, is more likely to leak due to its smaller molecule size. As it’s heavier than air, leaks tend to concentrate at low levels, rather than dispersing in the air. Add the fact that campervans and motorhomes are of small volume with limited ventilation and the risks are amplified.

For both gas and electrics, the materials, techniques and Regulations are different than those that apply in a house.

Despite all these dangers, some people seem to think they can copy an untrained and ill-informed person on YouTube and do their own plumbing, gas and electrical work.

As a result, some insurance companies are refusing to pay out where bad DIY has caused damage, such as fires.

The gas and electrical work on campervans and motorhomes is covered by various British Standards and codes of practice. It requires someone who is professionally trained and who has spent time studying, to be capable of delivering a safe, compliant system.

Our qualified team will give you peace of mind, that your installation will be recognised British Standards, and will be safe for your to enjoy whilst on your adventures.
